Little Farm in the Foothills
Welcome to my Little Farm in the Foothills blog! My husband and I are about to embark upon our fifth year of living on our farmstead, and blogging about our journey is something that I have been wanting to do for quite some time. There’s no time like the present, right? I’m taking the plunge, thank you for joining me! Things are about to get interesting here on Willow Lane Farm! 😉
My goal is not to tell you how to set up your own farm/homestead or how to start living more simply. These are things unique to each family and circumstance; they depend on your individual values and lifestyle. Rather, I have chosen to document our experiences so that others can read about what we have learned starting basically from scratch. If a couple of kids like us are able to start living more self-sufficiently and learn as we “grow” – so can you!
Please keep in mind that the topics I blog about will record our experiences, successes & failures, and what we have learned along the way. We hope that our personal accounts will be interesting and informative, but we do not consider ourselves to be farming or homesteading experts. This is not a small farm/homesteading gospel. There are many, many great “Homesteading How-To” websites and publications out there; please be sure to research thoroughly before beginning anything new. My intention is to not make it appear like we have a fabulous, perfect life – in fact I feel it is important to show the reality, the ups and downs, and the not-so-picture-perfect side of this life.
